Diesel Tools and Automotive Brushes for Engine Maintenance and Cleaning

Engine maintenance ranges from routine servicing and high-performance tuning to engine rebuilds and overhauls. Automotive and diesel mechanics also work with remanufactured engines, power plants that meet factory specifications and include new auto parts such as piston rings. Engine blueprinting is also trusted by tuners, and is well-documented among road racers and drag racers.
Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM) is best known for Flex-Hone® technology, but the California manufacturer supplies a full line of engine maintenance and parts cleaning tools for the automotive aftermarket. BRM products include specialty diesel tools for Caterpillar, Cummins Group, and Detroit Diesel engines, as well as diesel and automotive brushes for engine overhauls.
Specialty Diesel Tools for Leading Engine Nameplates
As this new YouTube video explains, BRM supplies diesel brushes that are designed especially for some of the world’s best diesel engines. For Cummins, Caterpillar, and Detroit Diesel powerplants, mechanics trust BRM’s injector, copper cleaning, seat cleaning, injector cup, and plunger bore brushes. For each of these leading diesel engine manufacturers, BRM offers the highest-quality surface finishing solutions.
Injector brushes have stainless steel filaments and an easy-to-grip plastic handle for injector servicing.
Copper cleaning and polishing tools are cut for power and best used as bench tools. BRM seat cleaning brushes use carbon steel wire to promote proper copper seating. Injector cup brushes have stainless steel filaments, and plunger bore brushing tools feature medium-soft 6-12 nylon.
Automotive and Diesel Brushes for Engine Overhauls
As a full-line supplier of surface finishing solutions, BRM also makes automotive brushes and diesel tools for crankshaft oil holes, oil lines, and valve guides. In addition, engine builders and rebuilders can choose valve guide brushes and brushing tools for oil galleries, lifter holes, push-rod holes, lifter bores, cam bearing feed lines, and tapered pin filters.
As this BRM brochure explains, cleaning an engine takes more than just a hot tank and an air hose with water. Diesel and automotive mechanics need engine tools that remove debris and deposits such as metal chips, grinding compounds, sludge, and dirt. It’s not enough to simply clean the engine parts that are easy-to-see. By using brushing tools from BRM, mechanics can reach oil passageways, too.
