The annual ISA
convention is where manufacturers and distributors meet up to learn about
innovative technologies and new business opportunities. Sponsored by the
Industrial Supply Association (ISA), this year’s event is scheduled for May 17
to 20 in New Orleans, Louisiana. According to the ISA 2014 website, over 2,000
attendees are expected to visit the New Orleans
Ernest N. Morial Convention Center near the city’s French Quarter.
For
organizations in the maintenance, repair, operations and production (MROP)
supply channel, the 2014 ISA convention is a must-attend event. As a full-line
supplier of surface finishing solutions, Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM)
will be there. Find BRM in Booth #607 and meet with Jonathan Borden, Director of Sales,
North America, and Heather Jones, Vice President of Marketing. Ask questions,
get answers, and brush-up on Flex-Hone® and NamPower tools.
Flex-Hone® Tools for Cylinder Surface
Finishing, Deburring, and Chamfer Blending
Flexible
honing tools are ideal for improving the surface condition of bores.
Self-centering, self-aligning, and self-compensating for wear, BRM ball hones feature
abrasive globules laminated onto the ends of flexible nylon filaments. Available
in a variety of abrasive types, grit sizes, and tool dimensions, flexible hones
mount in handheld electric drills as well as transfer lines, robotic cells, and
CNC machine centers for automated
surface finishing.
BRM's flexible cylinder
hones use a soft cutting action and a
low-temperature, low-pressure abrading process to impart a plateau finish with
oil-retaining grooves. Flexible hones
are also used for deburring, the process of removing raised particles and metal
shavings produced during machining. Additional Flex-Hone® applications include
edge blending and chamfering,
which removes stress risers and micro-burrs that can interfere with machined
components such as rotating engine parts.
NamPower Brush Tools for OD Surface
Finishing, Burr Removal, and Edge Radiusing
NamPower nylon abrasive
brush tools are ideal for outer diameter (OD) surface finishing. These
high-performance deburring tools from BRM integrate easily into manual and
automated equipment for in-machine deburring, edge
radiusing, and surface conditioning. Additional applications for NamPower
abrasive disc brushes include fine blanking, surface preparation, and parts
resurfacing. The NamPower family of abrasive brushes also includes abrasive
hex-drive tools and composite hub wheels.
Made with moisture and
chemical resistant filaments, NamPower brushes conform closely
to part contours, wiping and filing across part edges and surfaces. These industrial-strength
abrasive nylon brushes also feature lightweight tool holders, a unique
cooling system, and a molded thermoplastic base for greater stability and less
vibration. With their linear construction, NamPower brushing tools deliver
consistent deburring throughout the length of their bristles.
