BRM at AAPEX 2013 – Visit Booth 1364 for Automotive Surface Finishing

AAPEX 2013 is where innovators and industry leaders will meet the distributors, retailers, service shops, and automotive professionals who help power the $477-billion global motor vehicle aftermarket. From November 5 to 7, the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas is where leading manufacturers and suppliers will engage automotive audiences who need top-notch technologies ranging from car cleaning chemicals and computer systems to remanufactured replacement parts.

Scheduled for Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW), AAPEX 2013 will feature nearly 2,400 exhibitors and approximately 5,000 booths. The 2013 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) isn’t as large as the SEMA Show, but AAPEX 2013 will attract nearly 40,000 buyers who specialize in areas like engine building and auto parts remanufacturing. For AAPEX attendees who want superior surface finishing solutions, the Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM) booth (#1364) is the place to be.

Engine Hones and Cylinder Deglazing
As this video from MotorzTV explains, the Flex-Hone® tool is ideal for engine honing, cylinder wall deglazing, deburring, auto parts surface finishing, and many other automotive applications. Whether mounted in a machine center or chucked in a handheld electric drill, BRM ball hones are used to clean, polish, deburr, and improve inner diameter (ID) surface finish. In addition to engine cylinders and liners, applications include clutches and brakes, camshafts and valves, and crankshafts and piston pins.

Built with a stiff metal stem, flexible nylon filaments, and abrasive globules that some Flex-Hone® users call “dingleberries”, BRM engine hones are self-centering, self-aligning, and self-compensating for wear. As engine rebuilders and automotive restoration specialists know, ball hones impart a plateau finish that promotes lubrication and reduces engine wear. Trusted by professional engine mechanics and do-it-yourself (DIY) hobbyists alike, BRM glaze-breaker hones are also used to deglaze engine cylinders.

Brake Hones and Nylon Abrasive Brushes
Visitors to the BRM booth (#1364) at APPEX 2013 will also learn how Flex-Hone® technology provides a superior surface finish for automotive and motorcycle disc brake rotors, automotive fly wheels, and clutch plates. In addition to lowering harmonic vibrations, the Flex-Hone® for Rotors produces a non-directional pattern. Named an Undercar Digest Magazine “Top Ten Tool” eight years in a row, the Flex-Hone® for Rotors is ideal for both new and re-turned rotors and flywheels.

BRM also offers nylon abrasive brushing tools for unmatched outer diameter (OD) surface finishing. The NamPower family of high-performance brush tools includes nylon abrasive disc brushes that are used to clean threads, stabilize surfaces, and remove rust and corrosion from auto parts. As this NamPower video shows, these abrasive nylon brushes remove burrs and improve surface finish at the same time.
