Dingleberry Hone, Dingle Ball Hone or Flex-Hone

We can't tell you how many times we have heard these terms being used when referring to our tool. Brush Research has registered trademarks on the Flex-Hone and Ball Hone names. We encourage our customers to use the name Flex-Hone, but as you can see, the internet can foster new names at a rapid pace. When browsing the web for "Dingleberry Hone" we came across this forum entry. The thread discusses a cheap rebuild job where a hobbyist "honed the cylinders with a dingle ball hone." When someone in the thread corrected him for calling the Flex-Hone a dingle ball hone, he said "everyone I talk to calls it a dingle ball hone. But it was my first time using one and it worked sooooooo good." I guess we can't win every battle, but we sure are happy he was pleased with our tools performance. But, the next time you see this hone at your local tool distributor or on the shop floor...do us a favor and call it a Flex-Hone. :) Happy Thanksgiving from BRM!
